DATAFORT has been helping UK businesses use technology securely and productively since 2000.
Artificial intelligence may have only recently entered the business mainstream, but it is not new to us. Our technical founder has more than 20 years of experience developing machine-learning and neural-network systems, including technologies built for financial markets long before today’s generation of AI tools existed.
That depth of experience matters. We understand both what AI can do and the much harder question of how to turn it into reliable systems that work inside a real business providing value without compromising on security.
Today, DATAFORT helps organisations identify where AI can create meaningful value and then design and build the systems needed to deliver it. That can mean automating complex workflows, creating AI agents, developing bespoke applications, connecting AI with existing software or helping a management team work out where AI belongs in the business in the first place.
Secure by design
Security has been part of DATAFORT’s DNA since the company began.
Our original business was built around protecting critical company systems and data. In 2000, we were among the early UK companies using data-centre technology to provide businesses with secure off-site protection and recovery at a time when many organisations still depended on unreliable tape backups.
The technology has changed dramatically. The principle has not.
AI systems should be designed with security appropriate to the information they handle and the risks of the business using them. We use layered security, controlled access, appropriate separation of data and human approval points to ensure that increased automation does not mean surrendering control.
More than one model, platform or vendor
AI is developing extraordinarily quickly. No single model or technology provider is going to be the best answer to every problem.
DATAFORT takes a best-of-breed approach.
Our research and development work continually evaluates emerging AI models, development techniques and supporting technologies to determine what is genuinely ready for production use. That allows us to select technology because it is appropriate for the client’s requirements—not because we are committed to selling a particular platform.
As better technology becomes available, the systems we design can evolve with it.

We don’t start with AI and look for somewhere to put it.
We start with the business: how people work, where time is being lost, what information is available, what existing systems need to remain in place and where better technology could make a measurable difference.
Sometimes an existing product is the right answer. Sometimes existing software can be connected or configured more intelligently. And sometimes a company’s processes are sufficiently distinctive that a bespoke system provides considerably greater value.
